Key Features of Sanhua PEV Series Pulse Expansion Valves

Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) Control: Unlike stepping motor valves (like DBF and LPF) which adjust flow by moving a pin, the PEV uses a solenoid-type structure. Flow is regulated by rapidly turning the valve ON and OFF (pulsing). The control system adjusts the refrigerant flow by changing the ratio of the ON time to the total cycle time (Pulse Width Modulation).
Solenoid-Like Shut-Off: Due to its solenoid structure, the valve achieves a direct shut-off function in the event of a sudden power failure. This provides inherent safety and tightness, similar to an LPF valve.
High Pressure Design (R744 Ready): A critical feature is its high Maximum Working Pressure (MWP) of up to 90 bar (1305 psig). This makes the PEV series ideal for transcritica $\text{CO}_2$ (R744) refrigeration systems.
Low Capacity Precision: The series includes models (like PEV0) with a very low $k_V$ value (as low as $0.003 \text{ m}^3/\text{h}$ ), allowing for highly precise flow control in small cooling capacity applications, such as display cases and smaller refrigeration units.
Serviceable Design: The valve body can be detached, allowing the built-in filter/strainer and orifice to be replaced for easy cleaning and maintenance.
Regulation Range: The valve offers a wide regulation range from $10\%$ to $100\%$ of its capacity.
