1. Core Function and Construction

• Function: A unidirectional valve that uses a floating internal element (often cone-shaped) to prevent backflow.

• Mechanism: It operates without any internal spring or magnetic force.

  • Opening: Forward refrigerant pressure pushes the floating cone up to allow flow.

  • Closing: Gravity and reverse pressure drop the cone back into the seat to seal the valve.

• Materials:

  • Valve Body/Connections: High-quality Copper.

  • Internal Core: Engineered plastic (highly durable and lightweight).

• Application: Specifically used in Air Conditioning (Split Systems) in shunt with capillary tubes to prevent “back-condensation” from warm to cold evaporators.

• Refrigerant Compatibility: Applicable for all common HCFC and HFC refrigerants (e.g., R22, R134a, R404A, R407C, R410A).
