Description
✨ Key Features of Manifold Spiral Coils
These coils utilize the core coaxial “tube-in-tube” design common to all Packless heat exchangers, but are shaped and manifolded for high tonnage:
- Coaxial Design: Water (or brine) flows through the convoluted inner tube, and refrigerant flows in the annular space between the inner and outer tubes.
- Patented Convoluted Inner Tube: This crucial feature greatly increases the heat transfer surface area and promotes turbulence in both the water and refrigerant flows.5 This maximizes the thermal performance (efficiency) in a compact unit.6
- Manifolded Spiral Shape: The coil is arranged in a tight spiral and connected to manifolds (large headers) at the inlet and outlet. This shape offers a large capacity while maintaining a relatively small footprint, making it ideal for chillers and central {WSHP}systems.
- Superior Anti-Fouling: The high turbulence inhibits the accumulation of scale and sediment on the surfaces, ensuring consistent performance and reducing the need for maintenance.
- High Pressure Ratings: The coils are built for modern, high-pressure refrigerants.
- Maximum Refrigerant Working Pressure: 650 { psig}
- Maximum Water Working Pressure: 500 { psig}
- Certification: They are 9$text{C-UL-US}$ listed (certified by Underwriter’s Laboratories).10
